Who is behind it

Gentoo Media is the former affiliate arm of Gaming Innovation Group, known as GiG Media. It was spun off and renamed Gentoo Media in 2024. It runs more than 100 gambling review and comparison sites. Its 2024 revenue was about EUR 124.5m. It left the Oslo stock exchange in July 2025 and kept its Nasdaq Stockholm listing.

Catena Media bought AskGamblers in 2016 for EUR 15m. The sale to Gentoo (then GiG) was signed in December 2022 and closed on 31 January 2023. The price was paid over 24 months.

How it makes money

AskGamblers is not a casino and holds no gambling licence. Like most review sites, it earns money when readers click through and open casino accounts.
